Oaga Art Resort names Mohamed Azil to orchestrate operational future

At Oaga Art Resort, great operations extend far beyond systems and schedules; they are the quiet rhythm that shapes every stay, the invisible touch that brings comfort, care, and connection to life. That rhythm is now guided by Mohamed Azil, who joined as Director of Operations in December 2024.

Azil brings with him more than twenty years of experience crafting exceptional guest journeys and leading teams in some of the world’s most refined hospitality spaces. His leadership emphasizes clarity, collaboration, and creating room for people to shine.

From the moment he arrived on the island, Azil has been tuning into the pulse of Oaga. He listens deeply to guests and team members, fine tunes processes, and helps move the resort forward with greater purpose. Whether guiding the flow of a busy arrival day or supporting departments behind the scenes, his presence has quickly become a grounding force across the resort.

At his core, Azil is a people first leader. He brings a calm strength to his role, one that values intuition as much as data, mentorship as much as measurement. With a background that spans luxury operations, guest experience, quality assurance, and rooms division leadership, he carries the kind of quiet wisdom that can only come from years of hands on experience.

“True leadership is not about standing above others it’s about standing with them. I believe in unlocking the strength people carry within, guiding with experience, learning together, and turning belief into progress. Every day, we build something greater, not alone, but as one team, one purpose, one rhythm,” Mohamed Azil, Director of Operations, said.

Azil holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Suffolk and has held senior roles at industry icons including Velaa Private Island, Cheval Blanc Randheli, Four Seasons, and Six Senses. But it’s his outlook—thoughtful, grounded, and future focused—that makes him a perfect fit for Oaga’s journey ahead.

As Oaga continues to shape an experience that reflects the Maldives’ creative spirit and soulful hospitality, Azil’s leadership will play a key role in making it all possible with every process, every plan, and every team member moving in harmony.
